When you have a dream or a goal in mind, how do you bring it to fruition? Do you journal about it? Do you tell your partner or a close friend and start to formulate a plan to achieve your goal? Or – do you keep your grand idea to yourself, locked inside where no one will ever know what your dreams are? Im a closet grinder!

No matter your ambitions, visualization is a critical part of the journey to the finish line. Studies have shown that visualization can improve concentration and motivation while minimizing anxiety and fear. And one way to practice visualization is to create a vision board – a collage of images and quotes that enables you to create a physical representation of your ideal future or goal.

Create and Cultivate

So, I did it! Around my birthday, in December I started digging through Pinterest to find the perfect images that pulled desire and grit out of me.

A vision board helps to bring your dreams to life and stimulates your creative imagination. With more creativity comes a more vivid, tangible vision of your goals, which allows you to believe in them even more!

Manifest Your Future

People use vision boards worldwide to promote focus, gain clarity, and keep their eye on their final destination. And it doesn’t matter what kind of goals you have! Whether your dreams are related to financial, lifestyle, professional, or personal changes, a vision board can help you achieve them. Vision boards can help you manifest a better future for yourself.

Still unsure if a vision board can help?

Here are three benefits of making your own vision board.

Identify Your Goals

Maybe you have a general idea of your ideal future but aren’t sure of the details. Perhaps you want to be fit and healthy, but what does that really mean? Do you want to run a 10-minute mile? Do you want to have a six-pack? Do you want to reach your goal weight? Create a vision board that reflects all of these specific goals. Cut out pictures of people working hard in the gym. Find images of your ideal mile time. Identify the details of your dreams so that you have a clear direction.

Destress and Reassess

It’s natural – expected, even – to become tired on your journey. We’ve all faltered at one time or another because we’re just too tired or stretched thin to continue!

Creating a vision board and frequently referring back to it helps you destress and reassess. Your vision board will help keep things in perspective. It will allow you to step back and take a breath, and remind yourself of why you’re working so hard in the first place. Then, once you’ve reestablished a healthy mindset, you can jump back into the action refreshed and ready to work hard.

Adjust and Evolve

Your goals will change from time to time, whether you tweak them or toss them out for bigger, better ones. Keeping a vision board allows you to adjust your dreams, add new ones, or check some off the list! It’s a visual representation of the wild and wonderful journey you’re on, and it helps you see how you’ve evolved and grown over the years. Your life is not static, and neither is your vision board!

No matter what ambitions you have, you can use a vision board to identify goals, work toward your target, and accomplish everything you’ve ever dreamed of.
